Outdoor photography is solely dependent upon the weather.  Ideal conditions for photo sessions are:  Above 50 degrees and sunny.  Typically, in Minnesota, these weather conditions occur between May and October.  (But you never know…after all, it IS Minnesota!)

Full color photos turn out best when taken during the months of June to September (when the leaves are colorful and on the trees).

CLOTHING SUGGESTIONS:

COLOR PHOTOGRAPHS
Bright, solid colors that work well with each individual’s skin tones (Example:  Warm colors with yellow and orange skin tones.  Cool colors with red and bluish skin tones.)  Avoid plaids, stripes, flowery or busy prints.  In group photos, try to stay within the same color range.  (Example:  a family with reddish or blue tones to their skin….bright blues, purples and deep red clothing.

(Yellow and light colored clothing do not mix well with deep tone colored clothing for a group photo.)

BLACK AND WHITE PHOTOGRAPHS
Depending on skin tone:  Light, solid color clothing for fair individuals, medium tones (denim works well) for darker skinned individuals, darker clothing for dark skinned individuals.  Again, avoid busy prints.  This is especially important with black and white photographs. 

Having something with a point of interest (that can be hand-colored) is nice.  Example:  a hat, flower, pin, props, etc.
